Where Jamaica Meets Home
What our guests are saying
Simply one of my favorite food experiences that I’ve had all year and it’s all because of Michelle! Her hospitality is infectious and the level of service is the reason I’ll come back. The food being good is the cherry on top. I’ve been searching for good and consistent Jamaican food. There’s none in Orange County so I’ve tried the few there are in LA. Unfortunately I’ve had average to negative experiences with most ranging from dry chicken, stale, and salty food. After seeing a TikTok from Noe (iykyk) I was interested in trying this place out. I arrived in the afternoon on a Monday so most of the surrounding businesses were closed. There wasn’t much foot traffic, but the few that walked past I could feel the sense of community. This isn’t a storefront as all of the service and food is served outside on the sidewalk. There’s a small grill where jerk chicken is coming to life. There was only one person waiting for their food when I pulled up. Michelle was friendly from the jump and ended up offering me a sample of jerk chicken. I was originally planning on taking my food as there isn’t much dining space, but someone offered me a seat at the table so I couldn’t refuse. She took her time to talk with us and I can really see how hard she works. I ordered a jerk chicken plate as well as the oxtail and a few patties. The chicken was fresh off the grill and had good char & smokiness. You can taste that it was marinated as the flavor penetrated the chicken. It then gets sauced up with her special sauce. It’s sweet, tangy, and slightly spicy. If you prefer more spice, she offers sides of jerk sauce and hot sauce. The rice and peas were standard as well as the plantains. The oxtail was equally tasty although I was already getting full. It’s super tender and packed with deep flavor. I love that the oxtail gravy is labeled on top of the rice to soak up that flavor. Portion on the oxtail was a bit smaller than expected as I got maybe 3 pieces? They were nice and meaty, but maybe that’s just the big back in me. The Jamaican patties were also delightful. Beef, jerk chicken, and curry chicken were the fillings I got. They were flaky and piping hot. Even better with some extra hot sauce. I’m super happy to finally find a solid Jamaican spot with excellent service. Highly recommend and hope to see it more poppin even on a Monday afternoon. Can’t wait to come back and maybe try some other dishes! I appreciate the time you spent chatting Michelle if you read this!

I used to love in this area and haven’t been around here in years. The food scene is still alive there. The fact that I haven’t had good Jamaican food in LA. It’s not surprising since there’s not a lot of Jamaican restaurants lately I feel that’s not the case anymore. I was greeted and cared for pretty quick among walking up. Came for the rum cake and stayed for the patties and chicken . I have to say this will be a favorite stop for now on. Food is beyond Bombaclot!

Talk about Jamaican hospitality, we were greeted by Michelle warm and welcoming. We got the freshest Jerk Chicken right off the grill, plantains made to order, rice & peas are delicious. Let me say the homemade sauce is everything. It has a nice kick that accommodates the jerk wonderfully. The macaroni salad is really good It's great to have a small business that appreciates its customers and does everything the right way. If you are ever in the are 10/10 I would recommend

Came here last night just to check it out to see what they have to offer and the food is delicious. My favorite part of the food is there authentic in their homemade jerk sauce that they add into the chicken. It doesn’t taste as savory as the other traditional jerk seasoning sauces as this one slightly sweet and the spices is not too overbearing. Having a choice to have potato salad instead of cabbage was one of my favorite things and she’s running a special right now where you can buy three patties for $10. Nice little spot. It’s just hard to find parking when it’s not busy. Next time I’ll grab the red velvet cake when they have it.
